Top 10 Recipes of 2023

It’s time to unveil our top 10 recipes of 2023 and it’s a list I am excited about because I love all of these dishes.

Ever since I’ve been sharing this list, comfort and ease always seem to rise to the top. This year, three slow cooker recipes and two for cooking salmon in foil packets make an appearance, both speaking to those reoccurring themes.

What I found exciting about this year is that it features a variety of proteins including corned beef, chicken, pork and salmon. Vegetables also took center stage, with three delicious vegetarian recipes you could make for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

With all that, let’s get into the list of top 10 recipes of 2023, in no particular order.

Crockpot Corned Beef With Cabbage and Beer was, of course, our answer to St. Patrick’s Day. It’s honestly such an easy recipe because the slow cooker does the work and it results in melt-in-your-mouth spiced, salty meat.

This next recipe may be one of my personal favorites. Crunchy Mandarin Orange Chicken Salad is savory, nutty and a touch sweet, and the uncooked ramen noodles offer some crunch.

Another recipe with some Asian flair is this one for Slow Cooker Orange Chicken With Broccoli. It’s another easy slow cooker recipe with bright, tangy flavor.

I love seeing traditional recipes make the list. It reminds me that there are just some dishes that never go out of style, like Chicken Piccata. It is lemony and briny, and utterly delicious. It is special enough to serve at a dinner party, but simple enough to make any day.

Last year brought some international recipes to the table, including some we’ve already mentioned and this one for Slow Cooker Carnitas for Tacos. Slow roasted pork shoulder is the star of the show, but it also features thinly sliced pickled vegetables for added piquant flavor.

One of the vegetable dishes to make our list is this Veggie Egg Bake. I think each year when we look back on our most popular recipes, an egg bake appears. They’re easy and can feed a crowd. Chock full of vegetables, it’s just what you and your guests need to start the day.

We featured a few recipes in 2023 featuring salmon baked in foil packets, which I think is the easiest way to cook salmon. The recipes were a happy surprise when we found ourselves with a massive fresh salmon by mistake and needed to cook it up. Baked Thai Salmon in Foil Packets was one of the ways we used the fish. It is easy to make and full of flavor.

All Year Pasta Primavera is a recipe that is easily adapted by changing up the vegetables, based on what’s available. It is so simple to toss together, and the lemon and seasonings provide the right amount of flavor. Serve it warm or eat cold for lunch the next day.

I have made this Mediterranean Salmon Baked in Foil recipe at home many times, mostly because I am an olive-lover and it satisfies my craving. Again, it is easy to make with out-of-this-world lemony, savory flavor. I think it will become part of your regular dinner rotation.

Trust me when I say that this Elote Salad recipe will be one you will pull out time and time again. It’s a real winner. Fresh vegetables are covered in a dressing made of Greek yogurt, lime juice, paprika, cumin and a pinch of cayenne, giving it a bright, zippy taste.
