Safely Packaging Your Knives for Service

To ensure the safety of everyone who handles your shipment, including but not limited to Cutco employees, shippers and postal workers, it is important the blades be well protected. Please watch this important video and follow the instructions before sending your knives.

Instructions

  • ALWAYS COVER CLEAN KNIVES COMPLETELY AND SECURELY. Cereal box cardboard or the original cardboard sheath shipped with your items work well. Wrap in an extra layer of tissue paper or newspaper.
  • NEVER USE TAPE ON THE BLADES OR HANDLES. Tape or adhesives cannot be removed and those items cannot be serviced.
  • NEVER SHIP IN A PADDED OR PAPER ENVELOPE. Place only knives in a sturdy corrugated cardboard box. The knives shouldn't be able to freely move around in the box. Fill excess space with tissue paper or newspaper.
  • NEVER SHIP YOUR BLOCK OR TRAY. Knives will fall out of the slots and the box during transport, causing danger to all carriers. Wrap each knife separately and securely.
  • ALWAYS INCLUDE YOUR PRINTED CONFIRMATION IN YOUR PACKAGE. If paying by check, please make payable to Cutco, and include in your package.

Where do I send my products?

Packages left in the drop box should be no larger than 10"W × 6"H × 15.5"L (25.4cm × 15.24cm × 39.37cm). To keep your packages safe, please place them inside the drop box only. If your package doesn’t fit, we kindly ask that you ship it through your preferred carrier.

What should I do if one of my products breaks and needs repaired?

Complete a service request and follow the shipping instructions. Once we receive your package in Olean, New York, skilled professionals will inspect the product to determine if it needs to be repaired it or replaced with new product. We will then ship the product back to you. A nominal return shipping fee will apply based on the quantity of products serviced.

If the damage was caused by an unconventional use, we will replace the product for one half of the current retail price. See The Forever Guarantee for more details.

How long does it take to have my knives sharpened?

Once we receive your package in Olean, New York, please allow 1-23-5 weeks for the return of your products. Keep in mind that while tracking may show we have received your package, service may not have started.

Can I drop my knives off for service?

There is a service drop box located at the front entrance of our office at 7-2351 Huron Street, London, ON N5V 0A8. Any Cutco Products dropped off at this location should be packaged as if they were being mailed with Canada Post, UPS, FedEx or DHL. All packages must include a complete service request confirmation enclosed. Packages left in the drop box should be no larger than 10"W × 6"H × 15.5"L (25.4cm × 15.24cm × 39.37cm). To keep your packages safe, please place them inside the drop box only. If your package doesn’t fit, we kindly ask that you ship it through your preferred carrier.

Can my vintage products be sharpened or repaired?

If you have vintage products (products made before 1980), in most cases we can still service them. If we can’t, we’ll replace them. If you don't want your vintage products replaced, you can choose to have the original items returned to you when you create a service request.

How often should I send my knives to be sharpened?

With proper use and care, the edge on your straight-edge and Double-D®-edge knives should last years. When you notice they aren’t performing as you expect, send them for free sharpening and we’ll get them like new.
