Ingredients

  • 4 baking potatoes
  • 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Scrub and rinse potatoes well; cut horizontally into 1/2 inch wide slices. Toss with olive oil, salt and pepper. Put potatoes in a single layer on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake until golden on the bottom, about 30 minutes. Turn over and bake another 15 minutes.
  2. Tip: for flavored fries add (to taste) garlic powder, chili powder, onion powder or any spice of your choice to the olive oil, salt and pepper before tossing the potato slices.
  3. For easy serving, put fries in tall paper cups.
