Ingredients

  • 12 inch loaf of Italian bread
  • 1 pound thinly sliced roast turkey
  • 1 pound thinly sliced ham
  • 10 slices cooked bacon
  • 3 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 8 slices fresh tomatoes, drained and
  • seasoned with salt
  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped chives
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon EACH finely grated lemon zest and lemon juice
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Directions

  1. In a small bowl combine the mayonnaise, chives, olive oil, lemon zest and lemon juice. Salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Slice the Italian bread in half lengthwise. With cut sides up, spread the herb mayonnaise on both pieces.
  3. Layer the bottom with the roast turkey, ham, bacon, iceberg lettuce and tomatoes. Salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Top with the other slice of bread, slice into individual portions, insert a toothpick into each portion and serve.
