Ingredients
- 1 frozen puff pastry sheet, thawed
- 1-pound mild pork or breakfast sausage
- 1/3 cup green onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup white cheddar cheese
- 1 egg, beaten
Directions
- Unroll the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface.
- Spread sausage on pastry, leaving a 1/4-inch border.
- Sprinkle with the green onion and cheese.
- Take one end of the pastry and start rolling the pastry, brushing the end border with an egg wash. Wrap with plastic wrap and freeze for at least 2 hours. This helps when it’s time to slice the roll. When you're ready to bake, preheat the oven to 400 F.
- Let the roll thaw just enough to slice with a knife. Slice 1/2-inch pinwheels.
- Put the pinwheels onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake 40-45 minutes until the sausage is fully cooked.
- Remove from oven and serve.
*The roll can stay in the freezer up to 1 month before using.
