Looking for a stick-to-your-ribs barbecue sauce? Using maple syrup as a base can provide the sweetness and thickness needed for a sauce that will stick to chicken and ribs.

Cutco customer Bryan Lipscy of Deadman BBQ in Monroe, Washington, competes in barbecue cook-offs and offered up this tasty take on Maple BBQ Sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dark maple syrup
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoon tamarind paste
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sweet smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • (Optional) 1 teaspoon chipotle or adobo for heat

Directions
