How to Tornado (Spiralize) a Potato

To tornado (spiralize) a potato, the sharp 4" Paring Knife is a great choice. It has a long enough blade to cut through the width of the potato and is small enough that it’s easy to maneuver.

How to Tornado (Spiralize) a Potato

  1. Microwave the potato for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes, let cool and then insert a wooden skewer through the middle of the potato, lengthwise.
  2. Using a 4" Paring Knife, start at one end of the potato, angle the knife and carefully start cutting down through the potato to the skewer. Rotate the skewer and continue cutting, moving the knife down the length of the potato creating 1/4" slices.
  3. Pull the potato slices apart. Place the tornado potato on a baking sheet, brush with butter, top with seasoning and bake.
