Burgers & Hotdogs

They're The Tops!

Quick. What’s your favorite fun food? If you said hamburgers and/or hot dogs, you’re not alone. Not-so-scientific statistics show that the average American eats 100 hamburgers and 70 hot dogs each year.

And, for every burger and dog consumed, there are the toppings that go along with it. Certainly, you can figure out the traditional stuff on your own (ketchup, mustard, pickles, etc.) but what about spicing things up a little? Add a little excitement to your traditional burger and dog offerings and create a custom condiment bar. It’s easy!

Here are a few not-so-traditional toppings for both burgers and dogs that you and the gang might enjoy.

Get Saucy

  • Guacamole
  • Sour cream
  • Nacho cheese
  • Ranch dressing

Pile It On

Burger Musings

Burger musings from CUTCO Culinary Advisory Board Member Judith Fertig

“The classic American burger has gone upscale these days, with freshly ground beef, brioche buns, homemade condiments like an aioli or caramelized onion, and farmer’s market accompaniments like heirloom tomatoes or baby greens. Gourmet burgers are perfect for tailgating, a weeknight dinner, or a casual weekend get-together. One key to great flavor is to grill or toast the cut sides of the bun first. Spread a little butter on the cut sides, then toast until golden right in the skillet, on the grill or in the oven. This extra touch of caramelization complements the seared flavor of the beef. Yum!”
