CUTCO to appear on The Science channel program "How It's Made"

May 21, 2009

CUTCO Cutlery will be featured on an episode of The Science Channel program “How It’s Made” on Friday, May 29 at 9 p.m., ET.

A film crew from the popular TV show visited CUTCO Corp. facilities in Syracuse and Olean last year to film the segment that will highlight the manufacturing of CUTCO Super Shears. Viewers will see how the shears’ blades are forged at CUTCO Cutlery’s sister company, Schilling Forge in Syracuse, then see how the shears are finished and assembled at the factory in Olean.

“What’s great about the show is that it will provide an inside look at how the shears are made,” said Jim M. Stitt, president of CUTCO Cutlery. “From the dramatic forging process to the detailed finishing process, viewers will see a simple bar of high carbon stainless steel transformed into a pair of great kitchen shears.”

“How It’s Made” has an international audience of over 100 million viewers per week.
